Legal/Expert Witness

 

Dr Boyd's area of specialism is the assessment and evaluation of Adults with Learning Disability​, Offending Behaviour and Mental Health Difficulties. 

Dr Boyd provides opinion on the psychological impact of traumatic events (Personal Injury, Medical Negligence).

D Boyd provides psychological opinion to HMPPS Parole Board.

Instructions are accepted for: 

  • Psycho-cognitive assessment of adults particularly with regard to assessment of General Adult Mental Health, Learning Disability, Mental Capacity and Fitness to Plead. 

  • Court referred clients for psychotherapeutic assessment, intervention and evaluation for individuals going through Court Proceedings. 

Dr Boyd is experienced in undertaking psychological assessments using widely and professionally recognised psychometric measures and Structured Professional Judgement tools for the purpose of preparing CPR35-compliant Expert Medical Reports for Court for litigation in personal injury, clinical negligence and employment.  

 

Dr Boyd has attended relevant training in expert witness reporting. She has been awarded both the Cardiff University Law School Civil Procedures and Criminal Expert Witness Certificates through Bond Solon training.  She is registered on the National Register of University Certificated Expert Witnesses and the UK Register of Expert Witnesses https://www.jspubs.com/experts/index.htm 

A timely and efficient completion of reports within 6 weeks of receiving accepted instructions is ensured.
